Shockwave Therapy

For what other care has been skipping.

If you've been dealing with something that keeps coming back or never fully healed, shockwave might be what other care has been skipping over.

What shockwave therapy is

Acoustic pressure waves that restart the healing process.

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that delivers acoustic pressure waves to targeted areas of the body. Those waves stimulate blood flow, break up scar tissue and calcification, and trigger the body's natural repair process in soft tissue that has stopped healing on its own.

The name sounds clinical, but the experience is more straightforward than you'd expect. Most patients describe the sensation as a deep, rhythmic pressure — not comfortable in the way a massage is, but not painful in a way that's hard to tolerate. Sessions are short, typically 10 to 15 minutes in the targeted area, and most people notice a difference within a handful of treatments.

What it addresses

The stubborn, slow-to-respond stuff.

Shockwave at SkyChi is focused on musculoskeletal conditions — the ones that tend to be stubborn and slow to respond to other treatment.

Plantar fasciitis

Achilles tendinopathy

Patellar tendinopathy

Rotator cuff issues

Tennis elbow & golfer's elbow

Calcific tendinitis

Hip flexor & glute tendinopathy

Chronic soft-tissue injuries that haven't fully resolved

What a session feels like

Short, targeted, and straightforward.

Your first visit includes a brief assessment to confirm shockwave is appropriate for what you're dealing with. From there, Dr. Rai applies a conductive gel and uses the device in short passes over the tissue.

01

Assess

A brief evaluation to confirm shockwave is right for your specific issue.

02

Treat

3–6 sessions spaced about a week apart. Some conditions respond faster; some take the full course.

03

Recover

Mild soreness for 24–48 hours after a session is normal — similar to a deep tissue massage, and usually a good sign.

How it works alongside chiropractic

Better together — but available on its own.

For active SkyChi patients, shockwave therapy integrates naturally into your existing care plan. Chiropractic addresses the nervous system and spinal alignment. Shockwave addresses the soft tissue. When both are working together, results are usually faster and more complete than either one alone.

If you're not currently a chiropractic patient at SkyChi, you can still access shockwave therapy. Pricing is different for active patients versus new patients — Dr. Rai will go over that with you on your discovery call.

This is for you if…

You recognize yourself here.

  • You've been dealing with an injury that keeps flaring up.
  • You've tried rest, ice, PT, or massage and it never quite resolved.
  • You have plantar fasciitis, tendinopathy, or rotator cuff issues.
  • You're an active SkyChi patient and want to accelerate a stubborn soft-tissue issue.
  • You want a non-invasive alternative before considering more aggressive options.
